The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) at Alupe University College is a lively the department committed to the course of rethinking, developing and understanding of human behavior and the science accompanied by it in the 21st century.
The Department is composed of the following five (5) Sub- Divisions:
1. Sociology
2. Counseling Psychology
3. Religion
4. History
5. Geography

The Department services the Bachelor of Education (Arts) programme and the Bachelor of Science in counseling Psychology programme. Both programmes are designed with an aim to respond to community needs including – educational, economic, political, behavioral, and social.

The Department is therefore committed to providing knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to respond to the behavioral, social, political-administrative, religious, and academics challenges faced by the community of the 21st Century. 

Humanities and Social Science degree programme offer our graduates a wide range of opportunities for employment and career progression in the areas of the county and local government and administration, politics, counseling psychology, teaching and lecturing, social work, police administration, and management and town planning.
